Mobile Application

theCompass Craft Beverage Finder Mobile Application displays wineries, breweries, cider houses, and distilleries for North America. Establishments can be mapped using a radius search of the device’s location or by the establishment name, city, or zipcode. Users can also browse establishments by state for the United States or by province for Canada. All results can be filtered by industry type (winery, brewery, distillery, or cidery).

The Android, iPhone, and Amazon versions are all ($.99).

NOTE: theCompass is not yet available for the iPhone 11 iOS and iPhones 5S and greater.

Location Search

The Location Search view displays the establishments found within a certain radius of the device. The default radius is 25 miles and can be changed in the Settings view. The Location Search view displays the establishments in separate List and Map views and each can be filtered by industry.

State or Province

The Select a State or Province view displays a list containing U.S. states and Canadian provinces with each containing the number of wineries, breweries, and distilleries. In tablets and in landscape view, the list also displays the number of cider houses and meaderies. Clicking a state or province navigates to the State\Province view which displays the establishments in that area in both a list and map view. The list and map views can be filtered by industry.

Search by Zipcode or Name

The Search by Zipcode or Name view allows users to search for establishments by zip-code, city name and with the Android and Amazon appreciations, by establishment name. The view displays the establishments in separate List and Map views and each can be filtered by industry.

Establishment Details

Information on individual establishments includes the establishment’s address, phone, email, web address, a navigation link from your device, weather forecast (android), as well as links to the establishment’s Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest (iPhone), and\or Google+ (Android) pages. You can also share your experience at the establishment on various social networking sites.
